The Forest Knolls neighborhood is located on San Francisco's west side – it is bordered by Seventh Avenue and the Sunset neighborhoods on the west, and by Clarendon Avenue and the Twin Peaks neighborhoods to the east. The neighborhood is situated on the south slopes of Mt. Sutro (at 918’ one of the highest places to live in the city). It was largely developed for housing in the 1960's. Though the architecture is similar throughout the curving streets, the area is rich in geologic history, exceptional views, and urban hiking trails.
